Anger behind the Masks

As protests erupt around the World regarding racism, one can see that a bigger picture is emerging.

What should of been a peaceful demonstration against Police brutality leading to the death of an arrested man,

has brought to the surface years of feelings of injustice amongst coloured minorities, the lower workers and the unemployed in the Western World.

While violence and destruction is never acceptable, what we are seeing now is the hi-jacking of peaceful protests,

being turned into Anarchy by those hell-bent on smashing Democracy as we know it.

There has always been injustice in the world over the centuries, thousands have died for what they believed in. Two World wars in the last century.

I am left asking this question, how many of those causing chaos and destruction ( whilst hiding behind a mask ) are willing to die for what they say they believe in?

"Humans must face death, old age and disease as well as natural disasters that are beyond our control....But these sufferings are quite sufficient for us

Why should we create other problems due to our own ideology,  just different ways of thinking"   Dalai Lama

That's a very, very big ask for the vast majority of people.  I doubt I know anyone who would offer up their life for a cause.  I wouldn't.

None of them.

All I can say is I am so glad that the majority of these people carry mobile phones and then take videos or pictures of the few scum who wreak havoc and the post it for the folk that care can name them and hopefully they can be prosecuted.

Riot by day......and then come home for mamma's dinner and play video games and commando keyboard (troll) all night.  They believe they are invincible and strong in solidarity.  They believe in hate.  Is that emotion just as powerful as love and willing to die for?

As for me, I'm always civic minded.  My neighborhood is pretty clean.  I pick up all my brass.....he, he.

I know many who would risk their lives unhesitatingly if they thought their immediate family was under a dire threat.  Perhaps some of the rioters have family members who they believe to be at risk of police brutality.  I cannot relate to the black lives matter protest but I can relate to the police killing of Chantel Moore.  I can understand how a peaceful demonstration could get out of hand if provoked.  I can also understand how militant groups use the peaceful demonstrations to create anarchy.  There are so many sides to it.

There's certainly more of a political air and media hype about what's happening these days.  The actual facts don't back up the myth that has brought about this anger and destruction.  Many people a lot smarter than me and with an actual involvement in the Black community are slowly breaking down this myth but when you have the media stoking the fires the anger will remain.  Too many people believe a quote just because it has been said on the web and not enough know the real history behind what is going on.  I think the media and politicians could completely turn this whole subject around if they were to come together instead of using it for their own means.

Yes.  But that wouldn't really be for a "cause" in the sense I think we are talking here.
