United States government has already given Moderna nearly 1 billion dollars, seems like the two shoot requirement should be free.  My taxes are paying for all the work they are doing.

If it works well then a good value. Yes, one would expect no profit to Moderna if taxpayer funded.

$1 billion / $74 = about 13.5 million people vacinated.

I agree that it could / should be cheaper in such mass quantities and with government support, but we don't know the true costs behind it, research, production, etc.  So what is a fair price?

For some perspective, flu shots in the Philippines are typically p1500-2000, $30-40 this year.  You can find them at pharmacies for $10-15.  Pneumonia vaccines are going for p3000-5000, $60-100.

Of course, many poor people get basic vacs for free in some barangays.

WOW, I never realised how wealthy some of our members are. You must be earning a fortune to be paying enough tax to fund this on your own. I salute you for your kindness.

 Just having fun

At this juncture, I'd give back the $1200 they gave me if it worked... but $74 is cheap... thats about the same price we "pay for a mass" for All Souls Day and Christmas... and also about the same for every funeral for a 1st-5th cousin...

I wonder which vaccines will be available here?   Our choices may be limited.

Nothing like taking advantage of the situation by charging a high dollar amount for the vaccine. Next up, anyone that is paying for insurance will surely get an premium increase.
