I have some vitamins I would like to ship a friend for her kid in Cebu City. Maybe a 1lb or 2lb total weight. Whats the best parcel service and is the shipping delayed because of the covid 19?

You need to check with the shipping companies like Fedex / DHL / UPS to see if vitamins are allowed to ship to the Philippines.  LBC might be an option too.  For the first 3, shipping will be over $100.

Worth checking out LBC Shipping Cart. https://www.shippingcart.com/  They ship from an address in California. Medicines are classed as prohibited items, but vitamins probably ok. You can check with them easily enough.

They have an online shipping estimator. 2 lbs weight in a package 6”x 6” x 6” is around US$24.

Takes around two weeks.

I'm not sure about using Shipping Cart from the U.S.  just now.  I think they are still a mess.  A month or more ago I reported that they said they had a two week backlog of shipments being checked in.  So, if you ship from Amazon on Monday and it arrives their warehouse on Tuesday, it may just sit there stacked up for 2 weeks before they check it in.  Unacceptable and prime for pilferage.

Now I guess they are trying to control the backlog by closing the warehouse at times.  What happens to your orders while the logistics partner is holding off the deliveries?  This is their current message.

Shipping cart is a terrible mess. I used them in the past and was satisfied but boy have they gone downhill and the slide started pre Covid 19.

LBC owns shipping cart and things have gone far down hill. I finally got items shipped to me last week that had been sitting in California for 2 months. I have an entire file in my email folder of unanswered emails to them. They use an email center to answer inquires and you only get an automated response or a promise to look into it. The last time I looked they were BBB rated F. They're rated very poorly on most consumer review sites also.

Sorry to hear that. I only use them for shipping from the UK. I use them a couple of times a month and  find them reliable and speedy. Always getting the items within 14 days of dispatch, usually quicker than that.

That is a shame.  It worked great for me ~2 years ago.  Seemed like a good business model.  They must have mis-managed it into the ground when volumes were going up.

I was in the express package business and we had a few times where we were overwhelmed, but you should be able to deal with it fairly quickly, or you will fail.  Every Christmas was a challenge you can plan for.  I forget what year it was, but UPS went on strike and all the other carriers were hammered with business.  That was a learning experience!

Any reason why we can't try them in UK?  It might be worth a shot for some items.  Amazon is in UK, correct?

Wouldn't it be easier to buy them here online from Pharmacys or whatever.

Agree.  Lazada carries Centrum which is a well known and respected brand.  Almost certainly cheaper and faster than shipping from the US.
