Good Morning from Charlotte NC USA

I am hoping travel restrictions let up by Nov. Looking to stay for the year knowing I can do 6 months. I most likely bounce for a short trip out and do another 6 months. Is that correct in thinking. I have multiple companies in the USA that I will be running / over seeing from Philippines. Was hoping pre-virus to already be there. Will be flying into Manila when allowed but staying in Calauan/ Los Bonas area .

Whats the best way to apply and have the visa prepaid before I get there.

Hoping to meet more folks from site as well. I look  forward to my trip over.

Sincerely

Alex Franks

Currently, you can't get a visa or arrive in the Philippines unless you are married to a Philippine citizen.  You should probably watch the Philippines Embassy website to see when that changes.  This is one.  There are others.  Also there are some other topics on related subjects.

When the situation goes back to normal you can stay as a tourist for up to 3 years without leaving. The situation is not normal so hard to advise much as things change often.

When things are normal, there is no time specified that you must leave for.  Many have flown to Hong Kong and back, arriving back in the Philippnes the next day to begin another 3 years.

As Dave said,  more or less as long as you leave and come back to start the 3 years again. You can go out for a day or week and back again. When I did it last year I went to Taiwan for 3 days but did not need to go that long.

Once the ban is lifted and you arrive in Manila you can get your first 59 day visa there. A 30 day tourist visa is automatically given and you get another 28 days tacked on. Cost is about 3k pesos or a little less. Best to have pesos in advance to pay for it. Only takes a few minutes and no forms to fill out nor are passport photos required. But first check if they will still issue the visa extensions at the airport. Post Corona O’ Rama who knows what will happen or what services will be available.

Then you’ll have more time to get settled in and then get to the BOI office in Manila (or to one closer to you if there is one) to apply for the six month tourist visa. Download and print out the application plus the checklist before you go to the BOI office.

This will work but there is an unwritten limit on how many times, depending on which agent you get upon re-entry. The ones who got caught working while on  a tourist visa have made it difficult for everyone else.
