When will they give up?

A bad idea that didn't work out.  Fairly certain that everyone knows it is a lost cause.

A bit of Deja vu going on here. This is following the last downpour, luckily we aren't going into typhoon season. :whistling:

While I agree that the artificial Dolomite beach is folly, I am pretty sure this picture is from Baseco Beach, further north on Manila Bay.

After looking at some pictures on Google maps, I would say you are exactly right.

And guess what?  The DummyLite beach had it's grand reopening today!  Soft opening, whatever that is for a beach.  Will they every give up?  I read a while back that they were bringing in new sand.

Maybe they can collect the sand, sift out the garbage, and pack it away in storage.  Then on special occasions they can take it out and spread it on the beach.  Repeat as required.

I think from close up photos it's now more like small pebbles than sand.

How many of us can remember Manila Bay and it's foreshores nearly 50 odd years ago, I remember a community toilet on the foreshore and all dropping went out to sea with the tide to feed the fish. I think they need to spend the money on educating the people in cleanliness than on trying to change the way the current of the sea works. Neither their dolomite nor their education program will work, their pushing the proverbial up hill with a rake, spend the money on something worthwhile. :508:
