From Ninoy Aquino International airport Facebook update 12/28/2020.

The list will likely quickly expand to many more locations.

Effective midnight of December 29, 2020, all passengers originating from the countries listed below will not be allowed to enter the Philippines. This is a precautionary measure put into place by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in preventing the entry of second COVID-19 strain which was recently detected. The following countries include:

United Kingdom

South Africa

Switzerland

Italy

Denmark

Israel

Hong Kong

Spain

Ireland

Netherlands

Singapore

Lebanon

Japan

Canada

Germany

Sweden

Australia

France

Iceland

South Korea

Passengers already in transit or who had been in any of the flagged countries within 14 days from entry into the Phils and who arrive before Dec. 30, 2020, will be allowed entry but they shall be subjected to strict quarantine and testing protocols (mandatory 14 day quarantine in OWWA and DOT accredited facilities) despite getting a negative RT-PCR result.

Shoot, great news! I hope they will have lifted the ban by March/April, when C and I are planning to be back to Italy :Caught:

I would not be surprised to see that list of countries quickly grow.  Seem like it was only a few weeks ago that it was "just" South Africa?

You can leave but getting back may be the problem.

Give the rest of the World a few months of vaccinating the majority of their population and it may be a case of who will let anyone from the Philippines into their country.

I sincerely hope this is wishful thinking

They're ramping up restrictions not easing them. There's a real crisis in Europe developing right now bigger than anything so far that's not going to go away till the vaccine is rolled out. That's not going to happen till summer

Philippines hasn't even started vaccination yet and no firm dates and the shit that's hitting Europe now has hardly touched Asia

The situation will be reversed before too long Asians will find it hard to get into Europe

Well, I haven't seen my family in Italy since June last year and I would like to see them again in 2021. There's my cousin's wedding in May, which we hoped would also be my chance to introduce my wife C to my extended family and friends.

Anyway, the problem here is to go back to the Philippines, rather than entering Italy.

Only OFW are allowed to leave the Philippines regardless of their destination that's the situation now

Europeans are by and large not allowed to enter the Philippines that's the situation now

Who knows what the situation will be in march
