How do I get my new bank debit card sent here?

Which banks do that for you and what shipper do they use? That's a recipe for fraud which is why most banks won't do it.

Currently I am with Bank of America and Schwab, I may used other banks in the past but I don't remember. They are using Fedex to ship the cards. What kind of fraud you are talking about? There are millions of ATM/Credit cards shipped by mail, what kind of fraud you are seeing?

May or may not be useful but does your bank have a branch here.  I bank with HSBC in HK and they wont send credit cards to a home address by courier.... but I arranged for them to send my new cards to a bank employee who had  provided correct identification etc. He received the cards, sent me notification and I collected from him.

And HSBC paid for the many calls that it took to arrange this.  Several weeks later I received regular mail from HSBC checking that I had safely received the cards.. that mail took 8 weeks to deliver and i live in the centre of Makati. !

With my bank the new credit card is just a piece of plastic with a microhip on it that is useless until I activate it.  Once I receive the card I have to use online banking with has secure access.  I then select activate card and go through more security before it can be used.

My UK Bank sends the card by normal post, no special delivery.  When it arrives here I have to go to an ATM and enter my PIN to activate the card.  If this is not done the card is just a piece of plastic of no use to anyone.  I don't see any security issue with that procedure.

Schwab is set up for international accounts but most US banks won't send replacements cards to a foreign address.

Last time I checked, my US banks wouldn't send any cards to an international address, only the US address listed on the account. This was a few years ago before the chips, though I know some still won't do it 'for security reasons'.  Did you add a foreign address on your US bank account online?

My Schwab was not international, Citibank and Chase will also send to international address, I travelled alot, never had problems getting cards.

I have an HSBC account which is World wide.
