To prevent COVID-19 transmission, PNP Chief Gen. Debold Sinas first prohibits singles, couples, siblings, and friends from using PDAs or public displays of affection and holding hands and shaking hands in public.

Sinas said that holding hands or PDAs has been banned for a long time, but he said people can’t stop them, especially when they are together at home so he reminded again that the violator will be apprehended.

Due to the sudden rise of COVID-19 cases, the government will once again intensify public surveillance.

In fact, there are areas in Metro Manila that are subject to special concern and granular lockdowns.

According to the data, new COVID-19 cases were recorded for four consecutive days at the 3,000 level despite the start of the government’s massive immunization program on March 1.

An expert said Wednesday that a “pandemic fatigue” has been driving the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.

According to molecular biologist and Department of Health (DOH) advisor Dr. Edsel Salvana, many Filipinos have been complacent in following health protocols due to pandemic fatigue.

“Ang main driver talaga nito sa ngayon [ay] ‘yung tinawag na ‘pandemic fatigue’ dahil medyo nagre-relax talaga ‘yung mga tao dahil nakikita nila, ‘Ay well, everyone’s out naman. Okay naman pala,’” Salvana said in an interview on Unang Balita.

“‘Yung virus hindi naman nagre-relax ‘yun eh, kaya tuloy-tuloy po ‘yung nangyayaring transmission,” he added.

According to PublicHealth, pandemic fatigue “can be experienced differently for everyone but often presents itself as feeling restless, irritable, lacking motivation, and difficulty concentrating on tasks. You may even notice yourself withdrawing from socializing with others or physical symptoms such as changes in eating and sleep habits.”

“Pandemic fatigue may be experienced more by youth and young adults whose social circles are not as clearly defined yet and socializing to build friendship networks and romantic relationships are an important focus in this stage of their life,” it added.

Salvana also emphasized that the new coronavirus variants that were recently detected in the Philippines contributed to the COVID-19 surge.

Sometimes I wonder if all the rules and crap these days are just fiction. What's next is anyone's guess. I suppose a new rule on sharing a bed is next.

I removed the source link from the above post as that site is prohibited on the forum. The story can be found everywhere in Google.

A practice among the Amish community in Pennsylvania is to install a wooden board in the middle of a bed to prevent contact between two person.  If the board is high enough, you can't even hold hands.  Perhaps someone can suggest this to PNP Chief Gen. Debold Sinas.  A pilot program is needed so perhaps we can start with all senior PNP officers all the way to rank & file personnel.  We will consider it a success when the birthrate within the PNP drops to zero.

This is the same guy who was in hot water over his birthday party mass gathering. I guess he learnt his lesson and wants to stop anything and everything.

0700. Breakfast. 0800 Report for duty. 0830 assume post under shade tree near sari-sari store. 0930 stop motorcycle get 200p instead of writing ticket, 1000 merianda under tree. 1200 stop another motorcycle, lunch under tree. 1400 Trike stop, merianda. 1600 Jeep stop, merianda. 1800 leave shade tree, stop van, return to station. Buy beer and snacks, karaoke with work mates. 2200 return home, dinner.

Repeat :nudie:

I tend to think WE would all do this if we could get away with it, Those of us that have served will know where I come from on this, Carrying a clipboard on a walkabout springs to mind :whistling:
