Starlink internet coming soon to Philippines?

There has been topics sometime back on other satellite providers in the Philippines. Maybe one of them might be better than you have or might have to pay.

Musk just announced that Starlink will end beta testing in October.  They now have over 1,600 satellites up and have filed paperwork to put up a total of 42,000 so I think any interruptions going forward would be related to severe weather.   I plan on giving it a good look when it is available here.   Maybe get a repeater and share the cost with my neighbors.

As I mentioned previously, if it's anything like Cignal satellite whenever there's a relatively heavy downpour the signal will be affected, and often go off completely.  I have no idea the different technologies but for me I'd only be looking at Starlink if there were no other options around at the moment.

Set up a co-op. I can see small villages / communities doing the same to lower the cost per user.  
 

Like a lot of new tech, once it becomes more mainstream the cost will likely come down. I remember when satelliteTV started; you had to pay hundreds of dollars for the equipment and now if you sign a one or two year contract they give it to you for next to nothing and even occasionally for free.

Fairly sure that the conditions of use for Starlink prohibit sharing the connection with other households or across the community (under the standard plan at least).

I think Musk has to have all the satellites up by 2025 or lose the assigned dedicated frequencies Starlink was given. So it should be everywhere but the north and south poles by then. Goto the Starlink website to see what Latitudes they have so far. My understanding is he will offer in US first starting this October, then I guess each country he offers it in afterwards will want to gouge him for some of the money even though they contributed zero to it's creation. Not sure how all that will work.

It is already being used in parts of Canada. People are reported to love it.
