Popular Post GeoffH Posted September 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2021 For those expats with an interest in ships, the Australian maritime task group of HMA Ships Canberra, Sirius, and Anzac will be docking in Manila Habour tomorrow as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2021 (information from 'Australia In The Philippines'). https://fb.watch/8fSoWX3Axf/

Sorry axis of evil in my opinion. 3 1
Clermont Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Thanks Geoff, I didn't know we had three ships up there, I wonder how many ships, ( boats to the army,) and different nationalities are sailing the waters up there nowadays. Back in its heyday, Manila harbor used to anchor in excess of 100 ships on any given day. Plenty of fun back in them days.

graham59 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Have they locked up the boss man in a sound-proof box, while the armed forces meet with old friends again ?
Onemore52 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 I was 19 years of age when I first visited Subic Bay, (Alongapo tourist facility) never in my wildest dreams was I ready for what I was about to experience, there was ships of the U.S. seventh fleet on rotation from what was happening in Vietnam, and of course Australian warships on rotation as well. We were having drinks in bars in the strip, then in the American clubs on the base. Then back out to sea for more exercises with the United States Navy, even with the big Mo, then into Hong Kong for Christmas, down in Wanchai, Kowloon where there was more tourist facilities. The destroyer I was on was in the area for six months before returning to Australia, where luckily my liver was still functioning, and back to a normality. Wow what a ride.
