Driving Licence renewal

Others here may well have renewed recently. I did mine in Makati and the LTO has certainly gone higher tech than previously.

Theres still the silly and kind of pointless medical at P480 whereby one fills in a form , does an eye test,doc asks you feel well and thats it. Med certificate completed, except this time around they do put a photo on medical cert as a good fraud prevention measure.

 

One needs to register on an online LTO  portal, complete details ( which asks for the names of both my parents who are deceased  as part of the " profile") and then renewal is processed.

Upon receiving the new licence they send emails to you , showing your link to online LTO portal, that there was a transaction done  , and they send an online receipt also.

 

They system certainly isnt foolproof , as I tried to get to the portal when there on firefox ( rejected , unsafe site ) and same  on chrome, but no problems on safari. on my phone.

 But this LTO had its own pc and staff to assist.  Was a good experience and presumably as one has a profile should be even easier to renew.

Theres even a tab on your own profile whereby you can be reminded 60 days before expiry of licence by sms. Definitely an improved process.

At my last license renewal my physical was a breeze.  The form was already filled out and signed by the doctor, all it needed was my personal info.  Turns out she knew I was in perfect health even before I stepped in the door.  Probably the same with the folks behind me who got their physical from the same stack of already signed forms.

I was equally amazed to see on the form that my Blood pressure was 120 /80 and this done without any use of equipment whatsoever...the doctors in LTO could probably fix Covid in less than a day with that kind of ability !

You must have a different doctor, mine was 120 over 70.

Strange as chrome works fine for me. Are you sure your anti virus or something is not giving false positives?

It's a weird question to put on any form.

Yes it works in my home using wifi , but didnt open when I was in LTO office and both Firefox and Chrome warned me not to proceed with that site. No worries, licence renewed .

Plenty of Filipinos who don’t know who their fathers are. So what do they write? Hit n run? Anon Ymous? 🤣

I doubt if anyone would read the submitted form. But anyway as far as my memory goes that question is never asked in Australia. Maybe if its needed for parental consent but here I think its pretty much standard for loans or anything.
