Malls opening to kids

Yesterday, the Olongapo mayor gave the green light to malls allowing all ages.  Several friends posted pictures of their kids running around in the malls, all smiles and energy.  However, at 6:15 pm I stopped at Harbor Point mall, which is inside Subic Bay Freeport.  This was what it looked like.

The striped area on the left used to be a McD.  Closed.  Bon Chon closed.  BK closed but reopened.  I think at least 75% of the businesses closed or moved to the new mall in Olongapo.  Some spots have new businesses but not many.  SBMA must get with the plan quickly or more businesses will close.

So today my wife took our 17 year old to SM Central mall in Olongapo.  SM Central opened just after the pandemic started and have managed to stay relatively healthy, as far as business goes.

Our 17 year old got the Pfizer vac at the mall.  They spent about 4 hours there to do it, then I took our 2 young daughters to meet them in the mall.  They were so happy to be able to go to the mall and this was their first visit to this new mall.  There were lots of kids in the mall, running around, happy and smiling.  Christmas decor was up and it was a festive atmosphere.  I was thinking about it, and for many of the babies and toddlers, it was the first time in their life at a big indoor building with aircon, wide open spaces, etc.  The toddlers were especially fun to watch, testing their little legs out at the mall.

Here is my 5 year old with Santa.  Hopefully she won't have that face shield soon.
