Ziggy Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) Should the US and NATO forces face off with the Russians on the Ukraine/Russian border, just like they did during the Berlin Wall Crisis in 1961? If you're too young to remember, US/NATO tanks and Russian/Soviet tanks were actually ready to fire at each other if thinks got heated up (as shown below). Forum Support Mike J Posted December 8, 2021 Forum Support Posted December 8, 2021 Approved for now. If it turns into a political shouting match it will have to be stopped and/or hidden. 1
Dave Hounddriver Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 IMHO, the Russians respected the US during the Berlin Wall cold war. I fear that respect has faded since the election of the current POTUS and the fiasco in Afghanistan. 1

Lovely country, really, really nice people and some of the most beautiful European women I have ever seen. Their troops at that time were motivated but poorly equipped. And they really, really hated the Russians. Regardless of the level of corruption in the Ukrainian government, if asked I would fight along side the Ukrainian troops.
