I see, I thought the WHO has their own certificate or something similar. Sorry for my ignorance in this matter :shades: Anyway good news! Let's hope it all goes well for all of us.

From my understanding its an international certificate. I doubt you would have any problems.

My thoughts are the whole thing will be short lived.

Do you mean the relaxation of the tourist and other immigration restrictions will be short lived?

I think it will take another variant, more deadly than Omicron, to go backwards now.  If finally seems that the powers that beginning to  understand that we have to live with it, and Omicron is a mild variant.  I still have my fingers crossed that Omicron will end this.

Philippines new cases graph has peaked.  Down below is South Africa, where Omicron started.  Seems that Omicron peaks then decreases rapidly.  I hope.  U.S. has peaked as well.

I mean if cases surge no matter which variant. More areas under alert level 3 in the same BI post so I think it wont take much to spook the IATF. If caes surge they will blame international travel which will be a contributing factor. But anyway lets see.

Have you ever tried to stop a mob of sheep going through an open gate. Once the border is open, it's open. :cheers:

A good question.  I was wondering the same thing.  I do not see that the white "Vaccination Record Card" we are given in the U.S. would meet any of these requirements:

a. World Health Organization International Certificates of
Vaccination and Prophylaxis;
b. VaxCertPH; or
c. National/state digital certificate of the foreign government which
has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement unless
otherwise permitted by the IATF.

The World Health Organization International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis is that yellow multi-fold card many of us still carry around to show immunizations (Hep A, typhoid, polio, etc).  I think it may also be what is available upon request in the Philippines for Filipinos to use for international travel.

The U.S. has no government "digital certificate".  I wonder if the local health department will transfer the information from the white vaccination record to the yellow International Certificate?

I bet the Ph will eventually say that the US card is acceptable.  It is no less secure than the yellow international card!

I wouldn`t count on it mate, you could be in line at an immigration entry point here and the rules change then you would be sent back. They make rules but don`t allow for different circumstances of individual people, 1 rule 1 line no divergence.

Add to that it is election season. Here in Manila there is a council of Mayors, and they were pretty influential. 6 months ago they were very vociferous in making their opinions known. Now that they are either up for reelection, or swapping positions with a family member (the case of our mayor and congressman :hystery:) and not a peep from them lol.

Also have you noticed how they moved the goal posts? we went from level 2 to level 3 to "protect" the hospital utilization rate. Now that the hospitals are doing ok,,,they are citing the "attack" rate for the reason to stay at level 3...

For those who got vaccinated in the US a Smart Card is official digital proof of vaccination.

SMART CARD is approved at section c in Philippines health record requirement.

Smart Card General information;

https://www.commonhealth.org/smart-health-cards

My Smart Card digital vaccination recored experiance;

When my family got our vaccinations it was recorded into Washington State Department of Health data base. We also received a vaccine card at the time of our first shot. Anyone who got vaccinated in the US has it recorded in a State/Federal data base.

Applying for a SMART CARD;

In about one minute I was able to get a digital Covid-19 vaccination SMART CARD record from Washington State Department of Health.

Link;

https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/VaccineInformation/VaccinationVerification

I selected B as we live in Washington State but C would also provide a QR code thingie.
