The U.S. and Australia have far less taxation, which I prefer. Neither way is perfect. I prefer that taxes be used for real needs, not to motivate people to do what the party in power thinks is right, and then use the money for anything. Posted on FB by my old boss, a Brit! Something has to pay for all those Covid Jabs! Joking apart, a free healthcare and education system needs to be paid for somehow. And free public housing. And all the other benefits available to folk living in the UK.

I just filled my Trailblazer. Diesel, 70.94 litres at 56.61 per L = 4016 pesos. About $4.17 per gallon. $78. There is one guy to thank for the rise in global fuel prices that started in January 2021. And now the Ukraine situation is adding fuel to the fire. Update in my neighborhood, from the same Petron as above. On Monday the 23rd I heard it announced that gasoline prices were going up 4 pesos on the 24th. I filled up our gasoline Brio. 21.07 litres at 78.01 per L = 1643.67 pesos. About $5.63 per gallon. $31.39. The next day, I noticed that the gasoline was 82, as predicted. I filled my Trailblazer. Diesel, 72.63 litres at 74.19 per L = 5388.42 pesos. About $5.34 per gallon. $102.94. Edited May 26, 2022 by OnMyWay

OnMyWay Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 Where does it end? Two weeks ago I posted above about prices going up on Tuesday. I guess Tuesday is the normal price adjustment day. On Saturday June 4th, some of the newspapers were already announcing that diesel would go up 6 pesos on the 7th! So I again went out and filled up on Monday night, for 75.39 per liter. Sure enough, today the price is ~81.5. 81.5 pesos per litre is over USD $7.00 per gallon. Let's Go Brandon!
