Popular Post BrettGC Posted July 11, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2022 Actually sealing your road.... The locals are going to think you're nuts! That was the mindset when we replaced our gravel that kept washing away. Looks like it's going to be great though! We're about to start renovating... Again. Basically going to gut the entire top floor, extend it out over the kitchen, replace the roof, 2 new bedrooms, living area and office with a bathroom/CR as well. All while living in it.. Fun times.

Popular Post Possum Posted August 15, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 15, 2022 many years ago we bought property in a new subdivision owned by the vice mayor or the capitol city of the province. Later we has a drainage problem. The storm drains were not carrying the water away causing flood and feces to wash over everyone's property My wife called him and he had his guys start cutting the road in order to get access to the drain pipe. I asked him if the concrete cutting blade would last long once it hit the steel reinforcement in the road. He looked at me like I was nuts and said, "There is no steel in this road." Sure enough there is none and after 4 years the streets are reverting to dirt. Never, ever buy property in any subdivision owned by a politician as you have no recourse when things go south..most of the time.

If you look at the road on the left side you can see the first place were it gets directed off the road, there is a large flat spot you cant see in the photo. The rest even during the hard rain we had last week drains off over the hill. Our lot runs all the way to the bottom of the 2nd hill. We calculated the runoff coefficient for the drainage area we needed and we are good to go at 3x the max rainfall rate in Sibonga. The records only go back 47 years but it included the two bad floods that happened in that time frame. Of course everyone watching the rain come down before the Arc started to float thought it would be fine......lol.

They prefer to ride up and down the same street again and again instead. 2
