Lol I'm thinking in the future and  with the help of a wife

And her monthly income is???

May I suggest a cold shower 😉 read this forum for 1 year, stay in country for 1 year uninterrupted, before you make the big move?

I know your reply lol.

Without way more realism, facts, knowledge, the risk of failure is high for a young person.

Welcome to the forum Scooter

Be good if you can give me a bit more info about where and what you're planning to buy in Bohol and why Bohol?

Sounds strange to me how you've been here only two months island hoping yet you've decided to live in Bohol and also you're planning to buy land, build a house and get married...

I lived in Bohol for a couple of years on Panglao Island but luckily moved out 5 days before the magnitude 7.2 earthquake disaster back in Oct 2013.

I've designed and built two houses in the Philippines, that's why I'm wondering about what type of house you're going to build?

From what I'm understanding about your situation so far, I would suggest it may be better for you to rent somewhere for a year or so before commiting to living somewhere and with someone you don't really know very well...there shouldn't be any rush to get married or outlay substantial costs on such risky propositions without knowing exactly what you're up for...

I agree but it's just the way I operate. I see something and go for it. I was island hoping looking for the right type of place to move to. I found that on Bohol . It's actually not directly on Bohol but close . The reason I like the property (if legit) it has privacy  and a few other great features  and key components that will in  time , significantly increase the value.  It is more of an investment property . I could live on . I have a few ideas from single dwelling to small private resort.  Not sure about any of it honestly just ideas floating around. Looking to learn as much as I can about whatever information comes my way . At the same time I plan to get this property if at all possible.  There is...

Being scared of failure is not the way to live.  I'm not afraid to fail. I have no problems with that. Happened many of times. Some choose to sit back and be cautious. I do not. I will do my homework don't get me wrong, but sit and wait to see if I like it just isn't me. I know what I like and I know a good opportunity. But as you say I need to learn more about the situation before jumping in . That I agree with 100 percent. But knowledge can be obtained at any rate. It all depends on the  drive  to do so.

If you say so. You can laugh and make fun of me all you'd like I could care less. Just sit there behind your computer and enjoy your life how ever you'd like. If that includes poking fun at someone with a different approach to life than you. By all means do so. Your opinion means nothing to mean nor your attempt at insulting.

I agree.  But I am broke so don't listen to me.  Perhaps I should have been afraid of failure :hystery:

That said, I have had (and continue to have) a wonderful life.  Even with all the failures.  I think going for it is a good life habit.  But 9/10 people seem to like to live more cautiously.  Off topic, I am reminded of the Doge Coin millionaire.  He YOLO'd all his money on Doge Coin, became a millionaire, but did not sell, so returned to his original status.  BUT OOOOH what a ride he must have had.

Oops! raw nerve...

What's wrong with sounding as carefree as a teenager... :89:

Thank you Dave. Well put. I would rather be broke and know I tried . Than have money and done nothing. I've been broke plenty of times in the past. Life isn't about money anyways. Part of the reason I want to move to Philippines. America is a stressful gotta make money and more money and never enough money kinda place. Life's not about that. Money and material items are nothing compared to raising your child and being able to provide for your family , . Philippines Makes that a little easier with the cash conversion , and a little investment just keeps the mind busy. People who keep busy live longer and healthier than those who sit back do nothing and complain , or talkshit  about others who are doing something like drumstick boy ;) .
