If I had given them the phone I would not have had a phone for two weeks. Maybe you can afford to be without a phone for two weeks but I work and have other obligations.

I am waiting for the local repair shop to get the item. Not Istore.

I'd love to be without a phone for 2 weeks - longer if possible! :hystery:

I only have a shared landline.  Does that count?

Ah, the good old days of "part lines".  Our 1st home phone was one, they all were in fact in our area and we shared with a neighbour a couple of floors above.  IIRC there was a transparent button on top of the main unit that had to be pressed if you wanted to make a call to ensure the line was available!

I did not have one of those.  I just picked up the receiver, put it back down, and told the wife "Beulah's STILL on the damn phone."  There were six families sharing the line but it was always her on it.

We weren't able to hear the other person talking with our set-up, I think that's what the button was for - you pushed it when you wanted to make a call and it would "block" the other party from connecting I guess.
