Popular Post OnMyWay Posted August 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) We went to Aqua Planet in Clark yesterday, and thought it was well worth the money. It is expensive at p980 a head for over 48 inches, and p780 for under 48 inches, but it is really well planned and kept up nicely. I think they spent a lot of money sprucing it up during the lockdown. The food is expensive too, and they don't allow outside food. I only had pork BBQ, but it was good, cooked on an outdoor grill. My wife bought chicken and fries for the kids, and they liked it. All in, I spend 1700 on food for 6 of us. Why did we like it? -- Disneyland-like cleanliness. Trash cans all over. -- Wide well kept paths like Disneyland -- Cleanup crews just waiting for a table to clean, etc. -- Lifeguards all over the place, even in spots you wouldn't expect. -- All crews were very friendly and polite -- All water was super clean. No murky water anywhere. -- All the equipment was well maintained and every "ride" was working. -- Huge wave pools and also a kiddie wave pool -- The "lazy" river was not so lazy. They have some huge pumps making a strong current. -- On a weekday, almost no lines. -- Lots and lots and lots of high quality tables with umbrellas for free. What we didn't like: -- The hours are a bit short. 10-4 on weekdays. 10-5 on weekends. -- Cheapest open cabana is p3500, up p15000 for the best air con unit! The place is so big, it would be hard to tie yourself down to one cabana. We moved around 3 times and always found a good free table. -- No exceptions on the height and weight requirements. Not really an issue but my 47 inch 6 year old thought otherwise. Last month at Jpark in Cebu they had the same limit but let her slide. However, the slides at Jpark are simple compared to Aqua Planet. If you are over 120 kgs you can't ride most of the slides. One had 90 kg limit and I could not ride it. We went to Jpark Mactan last month and it is top notch, but for the actual water park facilities, I'm sure Aqua Planet is the hands down winner in the Philippines. Double Wave Pool This gives you an idea of how spacious the pathways are. The dark tables and chairs with green umbrellas are free, and appear to be new, and high quality. They have hundreds of them. Giant double wave pool with giant screen over it. Unlike many wave pools that are cheap and only run every 30 minutes or an hour, this one is almost constant. My guess is 10 minutes on, then 5 minutes break, over and over. VID20220804121015.mp4 Katy squirting the lazy river folks! In the background, the cement area is the wave maker for the river. VID20220804153952.mp4 Even this old dude did some slides. I had to ignore that instructions that said I shouldn't ride with a bad hip! I'm a big fan of rollercoasters, and some of these slides give you that same thrill and maybe even more of a sense of danger. The Tornado is intense! Hard to get any pics or video, but here is a small video I found. Edited August 5, 2022 by OnMyWay 4

Looks great though and hopefully they will keep on top of maintenance etc and keep it that way.

She is the "No Fear" daughter but actually there is a good reason for the 48 inch requirement. If you are too small you will not fit in the raft thingies. I looked at their Wiki. Taiwanese development of 122 hectares, and Aqua Planet is "only" 10. A big hotel is being built next to it, probably 80% done. The water park design is by an American company, ADG: https://www.aquaticgroup.com/our-work/outdoor-waterparks/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqua_Planet_(water_park)

It's happening, less than a kilometer from my Winter Palace. The buildings are steel and cement skeletons presently. The artist's rendering of the finished project doesn't look like much of a waterpark though.

The new construction I was thinking of is a Crown Regency development. I heard the JPark project has been stalled for some time by financial difficulties.
