They want to return to the USSR era by attacking one country at the time. It is attempted reunification by forceful means. The Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and Poland are now part of EU. Should Europe allow Russia to take it back? What about Finland which Russia claims historical ownership? Let's be thankful that so far it is a proxy war. The Ukrainians do the fighting while the United States, Europe and others provide political, armaments and humanitarian support. By the way, ultra-nationalist Russians are demanding the United States return Russia. I failed to add the words return "Alaska to" Russia.

When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, was it a European war or just a war between two European countries? I think it's accepted by most as being a World War. If you are asking me where we will all be in a year's time and will it have developed beyond a war between 2 European countries - come back and ask me in a year's time! I think the support shown by other nations in Europe answers the question "Has Europe allowed Russia to take it Back?" and most would say they shouldn't.
