I suspect that this blogger who has many websites has never been to the Philippines and most of what she writes is just info she found on the internet. For example the post about the falls include photos from two another sources which are free image sites so she's never been there to take her own. I wont post a link to her blogs but she seems to be a big writer but reminds me of years ago where a large travel site were busted for posts that are just written by freelancers without any real knowledge of the location.

Interesting comment says it all on her website about another location.

The Nevada hot spring community is really upset with your article on those 23 springs and we would like you to take it down. Most information is inaccurate. Many of the photos are the wrong spring, some of them are also on tribal land that don’t no tribal members without giving them a $500 fine. Gold strike and Arizona Hot Springs are treacherous hikes. There’s no information about how challenging they are that the trail is closed half the year because people die trying to hike that in the heat. Anyway, I’m afraid with all of this misinformation, people could get really hurt, could destroy sacred native land, and another spot, the owner does not want people trespassing on his land. And will fill in the hot spring if it continues to get destroyed and trashed. Please just take it down. Posts like this ruin special places

Hi Melody. Thanks for sharing your views. I am sorry that the article has upset anyone – that was never my intention. Is there someone in the community who would be willing to work with me to update the article so that it is accurate? I would of course compensate them for their time. kind regards

I am sure that is the case.  Anyone who has been to Kawasan knows it has no place in a world ranking of waterfalls.   I am not even sure in would rank in the top 10 for Cebu province?

I think she just picked the most popular, I can think of various falls all over PI that are more scenic, just as easy to access and with better upkeep.  Having said that, I haven't been to Kawasan for 6-7 years and they may have cleaned it up a bit.

They did clean it up a lot in 2020?  The governor made them tear down all the structures that had encroached over the years.  The wife took some youth there and it had turned into a tourist rip off.  Big sign that says you have pay an entrance fee and HAVE TO to hire a "guide".  What the hell, you walk on a wide path to the falls.  Wife refused (good for her), paid the entrance fee, and walked on in.  But then the typhoon last year did a lot of damage and they closed access.    It is open now, not sure what it looks like.  Last time went we stopped prior to the actual falls where there is a nice spot to swim in the river which is what the locals now do.

My wife and I visited the Contemporary Museum of Honolulu that the guide publications claim is free on Fridays.  It wasn't.  The staff said one writer started the misinformation and everyone else just copied without verification if the information was accurate.  They let us in for free since it was not our fault.
