When merging, Filipinos will attempt to get so close to you that their mirror is slightly ahead of yours. If you then go forward and hit their mirror they yell at you. I yell back and push their mirror, but according to your report I am clearly in the wrong. 1

Funnily enough, they make it work in the same way as we make it work crossing a road in HCM City in Vietnam despite the motorcycle mayhem. That's not justification for not having a better system, though. Same here in Dumaguete area, Organized Chaos that somehow works. Been back to driving here for 1 week and seem to have gotten the feel for it now.
Ziggy Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Road rules? Another oxymoron (especially in the Philippines). 2
Forum Support Popular Post Tommy T. Posted January 24, 2023 Forum Support Popular Post Posted January 24, 2023 I always have a laugh when driving into the city here in Davao. The city has posted a few signs on the incoming roads that state, "Obey Traffic Rules," or something like that... Usually, when I note these signs, motorcycles, taxis and jeepneys are zooming past me on one or both sides and weaving through traffic, before they run the red traffic lights or cut other drivers off as they go... Just an observation... 4
