My wife told me the hot dogs are wrapped individually because many Filipinos are poor and can not afford the whole package so they buy 1 piece. Sounds reasonable to me.

Makes sense - as I said, I genuinely don't recall sausages being individually wrapped in plastic in Hong Kong or the UK but it may be a new thing.

Unrelated, or maybe not? - I read a few months back that amongst many things, millennials hate to touch meat with their bare hands and take to wearing plastic gloves when preparing meat dishes.  The world is lost.

That makes sense if they were sold individually, but I bought the package in SM and there is no option to choose how many franks you want to buy. You buy the whole package or nothing at all.

The plastic wrap was invisible when taking it out of the package, and even after it was fried. We didn't notice it until we started eating, hahaha.

I think we need to remember that many people here at the lower end of the money scale still do not have a Ref and this is one way of keeping things somewhat fresh. let's also remember that many  buy locally from Sari Sorrys where split packs are a norm. :tiphat:

Well, if you are the correct size to re-use it on some other part of your anatomy then I can see why a Scotsman would think that. :hystery: :gottarun_80_anim_gif:

Generally, sausages are not wrapped in plastic but hotdogs are.

Yes but most supermarkets have a section to buy individually and those same dogs came out of the packs you buy. They cut them open.

I find the jumbo hot dogs the best.  The German ones are the wurst. :hystery:
