Seeing my doctor and a skin doctor. Generally in very good health from the check ups except for a possible problem with urine retention in my bladder...need to get a exploratory op by a Urologist...quoted Aud$3,000 for immediate op private hospital. I asked about free cost under Medicare (like the UK National Heath Service) and my doc said will be a long wait 4-6 months maybe So in the Philippines get Private Health if you can afford it or self insure a sufficient amount, ($20k say or 10k min) as the days of jumping on a plane back to UK Oz NZ Canada...not sure about the USA Medicare, are not what they use to be with long waiting periods.

You are so right Geoff....it has been 3 years since I have been back in Oz and the public heath system is really under the pump funding wise and because so many are going for catch up treatment and operations delayed by Covid19. Even my (new Indian guy very pleasant chap) hearing specialist spend all his time trying to persuade me to move away from the free government hearing aid to sophisticated models with noise reduction priced from Aud$2,500 up to 9,000. Evrn my doctor is pushing me towards private hospital and specialists. Things ain't the same here anymore...it's all about money. I will use a Philippines Urologist when I return mid May and see what he costs..
