Putin vows to crush ‘armed mutiny’ after mercenaries seize southern Russian city

I was told that the Russian government was going to take over the Wagner private mercenary troops and incorporate them into the Russian military without paying Prigozhin who owned the mercenary outfit. He took offense at this and headed towards Moscow until a deal was reached. Makes sense that the two oligarchs reached a settlement. Prigozhin's next move will be interesting. He knows he's a marked man and is not likely interested in becoming a martyr.

Prigozhin will stay away from high windows if he knows what's good for him. It will be difficult to avoid the polonium though.

Has the CIA used polonium?

Has anyone realized the emperor has no troops willing to die for him?  The Wagner vanguard traveled nearly unopposed.  They stopped about 200 kilometers from Moscow and then turned around.  Either all checkpoints let them pass or the guards just faded into the bushes.  Only exception were several helicopters and one airplane.  Russian troops on the Ukraine front are fighting because there are forces immediately behind who will shoot them if they retreat.

Going to Belarus with a full pardon from Putin.

Moscow says he can leave and will not be charged.  His men are being sworn to loyalty and signing contracts to the Russian military.   They may have said Prigozhin, leader of the Wagner group, was free to leave but in reality he is a "dead man walking".  No way will Putin allow this guy to live.

Once you get past the fact there's a war and people are dying... Monday Morning QB'ing the internal moves between Wagner and Russia is almost "fun".

I wouldn't put money on either Putin or Prigozhin... mainly because most information is coming from the press and whomever is feeding them at the moment... they can't get the time of sunrise right... and will sell the world whatever makes headlines (and $$ for them).

A few things are apparent.... short of using nukes, Russia is what we thought they were... pockets of technological  brilliance, but after that, a wet paper bag when it comes to broad war fighting expertise and morale.  The Wagner group is relatively low on the technology side, but superior (to the Russians) on combat effectiveness and overall morale.

Putin is fighting with alligator arms right now... he'll need more than a microphone and RT to show the world he's a force to reckoned with.

With all that said... the West watches like a deer in headlights.

Lesson for dictators:  Never allow your friends and associates to have private armies.
