Bohol gov condemns killing of Danish national in Panglao; orders manhunt.

TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado has condemned the killing of a Danish national in Panglao town on Tuesday afternoon, June 26.

He also urged the police to arrest the person behind the killing.

“Your provincial government is always trying to protect the lives of the residents and visitors of the province, and maintain peace and order,” he said in a statement.

Kristian Laurssen, a Danish national was shot dead by still unknown assailants while traveling from his residence in Barangay Danao to Alona in Barangay Tawala on board his motorcycle.

Police said he sustained a gunshot wound in the head.

Laurssen was immediately brought to the Governor Celestino Gallares Medical Center in Tagbilaran City by the town’s responders but he was declared dead upon arrival by the attending physician.

Police have yet to identify the motive behind the killing.

Police identify person of interest in Bohol shooting

THE persons of interest have been identified by the police in Panglao town, Bohol, in connection with the shooting death of a Danish national on Tuesday afternoon, June 27, in the municipality’s barangay Danao.

The victim identified as Christian Laurssen.

According to the police investigation, the victim was riding his Honda XRM motorcycle to Alona Tawala Panglao when he was shot by unidentified assailants near Purok 3, Barangay Danao.

Lauden succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.

He was brought to Governor Celestino Gallares Hospital in Tagbilaran City where he was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.

Police Major Andie Corpus, the chief of Panglao Police Station, claimed that despite having suspects and a possible motivation in the crime, they won’t tell the media about them because the investigation is still underway.

He said the persons of interest who will be summoned by the investigators.

Based on background investigation of the victim, Laurssen had a confrontation with someone and the incident was recorded at the barangay hall.

“Naa na siyay na engkwentro sa ilaha, naa ni record sa barangay nga naay naka-away pero atoa pani ipasusi sa atong imbestigador,” Corpus said.

(He had an altercation with someone in their place, and the barangay had a record of it, but our investigator will still have to confirm this).

Police were still looking for CCTV cameras from nearby establishments that could help them in their investigation.

The Panglao police collaborated with the Bohol Police Provincial Office to organize a Special Investigation Task Group for the immediate resolution of the death of the foreigner.

Authorities recovered an empty shell of .45 pistol from the crime scene. (AYB, TPT)
