Their website says 4-6 weeks, but who knows if that’s really true. It might help if you include a “planned itinerary” for an international trip 8-10 weeks out from the date you submit your renewal application.

MARCH 22, 2023

U.S. Embassy Manila, Philippines

U.S. Consular Agency Cebu, Philippines

  3. You were issued your most recent U.S. passport book less than 15 years ago.
  4. Your most recent U.S. passport book has/had a validity of 10 years from issuance to expiration.
  5. Your most recent U.S. passport book was issued in your current name (or you can document your name change by submitting a marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order with your passport application).
  6. You reside in and/or have a valid mailing address in the Philippines.

I think I had a topic on this.  I renewed in 2021 during Covid.  The main issue was that they were requiring 2Go as the courier then and I had a lot of problems with them.  Now that they have gone back to Air21, it should be fine.  Air21 has been fine for embassy work.  If I can figure out how long it took, I will let you know.  It was not bad.  Less than a month.

There has been a lot of talk in the news about significant delays for getting passports in general in the U.S. Many reports are saying 4 to 6 months to complete the process. Just google the news for delayed passports.

Renewed daughter's passport, prepaid Air21 at the embassy and got tracking number from them. Embassy says passport was sent July 25. Air21 tracking says "tracking number not found" Air21's customer care does not respond. Not surprising so nothing to do but wait. On the other hand LBC delivered my passport to the embassy in 24 hours.

I wouldn't worry over much about the tracking number - this happens frequently in my experience and suddenly everything gets updated at once (usually just after delivery :571c66d400c8c_1(103):)

Hope it gets there soon.  Try https://www.aftership.com/track.  They use to work better than LBC tracking for LBC.  Worth a try for Air21.

When did you send your passport?  I just realized I have to renew

I did as well, and no problems.  Forgot how long it took, but it was fairly quick

Thanks I tried that link but they don't show Air21 so no record.

We took our daughter and her renewal application to the embassy on July 15, had to go with her as she is a minor. I took my renewal with me to turn in at the same time but the person at the window said I used the wrong DS-82 form because it didn't say "Renewal" at the top. However, the "Renewal" DS-82 does not have a section for correction of spelling errors.  There is a typo in my passport, a space between two letters in my last name. Doesn't bother me or immigration in the many countries I've used it in but it seems to cause a lot of consternation with banks and the like in the Philippines. She still wouldn't accept it. Knowing she was a contract or temp employee I didn't argue. I just came home and filled out the "Renewal" form, wrote a cover letter and sent both DS-82s in via LBC about 10 days ago. According to the online tracking mine isn't being processed yet but they said it can take a couple of weeks.
