samatm Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 looks like the security lass was well versed in swallowing paper money ... I'm trying to figure out this dirty business.. Looks like she was chewing it... did she really want to dig through her poop to recover the 300? OR was she quickly trying to dispose it as the tourist realized it was gone. The Video is too short..they should show the the minute or two before the big swallow. Perhaps a supervisor gave it to her dispose of... maybe she is the trained human evidence disposer called upon in such situations. ??

Yes, I understand that there was another camera angle before she turned around. Why do they have to block her eyes? It appears that she is attractive and she may have been the designated swallower for the team. 2 1

hk blues Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Apparently it was 3 x 100 dollar bills so not that difficult to swallow given she washed it down with water (which was provided to her by a colleague). Our son swallowed a cheap charm off of a necklace when he was a baby and she searched through his nappy for a couple of days until she recovered it - god only knows what she'd do for $300!
Hestecrefter Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 It's something of an insult in the Phils to be called "mukhang pera" - money face. In this case, the shoe fits.
Lee Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 More of the same with chocolates again figuring into the story. NAIA screener axed for getting chocolates from passenger’s luggage Quote MANILA – A security screening officer (SSO) has been dismissed from his post for allegedly stealing chocolates from a passenger, an official of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) said Monday. The OTS said the screener was served a dismissal order on Sept. 23 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, "for taking things from the luggage of a departing passenger while conducting baggage inspection last Sept. 13." In an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA), OTS spokesperson Kim Marquez said the screener claimed that the chocolates were given by the passenger. Marquez, however, clarified that they are not allowed to receive anything as part of their "no gift/tipping" policy. She admitted that the OTS has not received a complaint from the passenger, but said they received a report from an OTS supervisor, prompting them to probe the incident. Asked why the subject was not suspended between Sept. 13 and 23, Marquez claimed that the CCTV footage they requested from the Manila International Airport Authority was delayed. "As soon as we got the evidence, the personnel involved was dismissed the next day," she said, adding that the screener was a job order personnel. "They could be dismissed outright if they commit violations in their contractual obligations." She said the OTS is calling on the passenger involved to shed light on the incident so they could further pursue charges against the personnel. Forum Support scott h Posted September 25, 2023 Forum Support Posted September 25, 2023 18 minutes ago, Lee said: More of the same This is just a minor and somewhat entertaining example of a problem that is systematic in the Philippines. Lack of "effective" law enforcement and the resulting disregard of the law in general. A senator recently pointed out that the move to Ban the POGO's because of the "social problems" caused by some bad actors could easily be solved if law enforcement was effective. Another example is the onion smuggling and the raids on rice warehouses. Tons and tons of rice are regularly confiscated but as yet there have been no arrests, charges filed, assets confiscated or indictments issued, let alone convictions. Just today there is a story of a man killed by a bus while jaywalking, naturally the bus driver is hauled to jail. 1
Lee Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 (edited) Update on money swallower. OTS admin resigns. OTS staff swallowed money not chocolates, says DOTr chief Quote Four employees of the Office for Transportation Security have been found liable in connection with the missing dollars of a passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport recently, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said on Tuesday night. Bautista said the administrative investigation also found that it was money—not chocolates—that one of the OTS personnel involved swallowed in a video that has been circulated about the incident. The four employees—two men and two women—have been suspended and may be dismissed from the service following due process. A criminal investigation would follow the administrative proceedings to determine if there were other personnel involved.
