I sold my clubs to one of the caddies last year!  She said the the pro shop would fix them up and fit them for her.  She was learning to golf.

Yeah, even with training, I wonder how much "golf help" they can offer.  However, there are a lot of lady golfers there.  We saw a group when we were there Wednesday.  Probably Korean wives of of Korean businessman.  Golf is huge for Koreans and the companies probably buy memberships for executives.

The was a nice course, Badian International Golf Resort, just a few km south of Moalboal.  Owned by Koreans, closed due to covid and still not open.

When we first moved here in 2013, the course was completely run down and barely golfable.  Most of the use was at the range.  Somebody came in and did a renovation that made it golfable, but that did not last.  It shut down for a few years.  Then a Japanese company came in, made a huge investment and made it into the world class course it is now.

I miss golf.  I was jealous of the golfers while eating lunch.  I had a huge burger that was excellent for p375, which I thought was ok, all things considered.  They have a huge menu with many int'l and Filipino dishes.

Nice looking course.  No mention of cost of play, but they do have pictures of the caddies.  I can't help but wonder if any of the caddies know how to play golf. :whistling:

This is such an Asian thing and I really shake my head at how out-of-date such practices are.

Sorry to be such a damp squib!

Do you know how much a round of golf at the Subic course costs? My home course here in the U.S. costs 2250 php including the cart for a senior on week days.  This is a city course and not real fancy but decent.

10k weekdays, 15k weekends with caddy/cart included, golf's not cheap here lol. I think it's a members only course also.

yeah that is REALLY expensive.  I have golfed many courses here, and not one comes close to that type of cost.  Guessing you leave with gold plated shafts and balls

Angeles / Clark has quite a few courses and only based on the looks, some are probably lower priced.  Perhaps FW knows?

Of course U.S. public courses are cheaper but private courses are very expensive.  My main golfing days were late 80s / early 90s.  The cheapest California courses were $10-20.  The most expensive private course I played was $85, if memory serves me correctly.  I remember that day well because I shot my all time low score of 80.  It was not a long course.

When I first started golfing a lot my main buddy was my boss, and he would play 2-3 times a week.  We were competitive then but he was fanatical.  He took a job in Manila so he could golf for cheap.  That was around 95 and it was still cheap.  Last time I saw him he was 2008 in Bangkok.  Still a golf fanatic!

Can you tell I miss golf?  Maybe I can give it another shot if I have hip surgery.

I golfed at one of the courses in the Angeles area, but I forgot which one, and it was reasonably priced.  Also golfed at Pradera, which was a beautiful course, it was a tournament so I am not sure about the day to day cost, but I know its not 10k per round.

Did you know they are building a giant Disney style amusement park in Pradera?  It will probably open in 2024.

If any of the golf lovers are in Dumaguete area I used to play regularly at Ang Tay, close to St Pauls the Northern part of Dumaguete. This was over 10 years ago and just P500 green fees, probably double now but still reasonable and an acceptable course.
