Thanks for checking!

I'm not really concerned, but it would be nice to know that it is in the U.S. being processed.

The only tracking app I have found to be consistently good was the one used by Amazon.

For me, both Lazada and Shopee's order tracking apps are pretty good - LBC's not so much as it seems to often update a lot of stages at once rather than stage by stage.

That's nice.  U.S. passport services has a website where you can track the status of your passport processing.  It has nothing to do with package tracking or passport shipping.

However, Amazon does have a good package tracking capability and I think that is because they demand their shipping partners have high standards for sending the data to Amazon.  If the shipping company fails to meet the standards, they would be fired and replaced.  Ninja Van is doing well with Amazon.

For the UK, once the passport is received by the passport agency, they send an email at every stage i.e. documents received, documents approved, passport being printed etc etc until it's despatched by courier - I assume the courier (DHL) can be tracked as well but I never bothered.

On the topic of passport renewal, can I ask a favor?  I sent mine to the the Manila Embassy about 3 weeks ago.  LBC shows it delivered next day.

I'm trying to track it on the passport tracking website, which is the second link below.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/status.html

https://passportstatus.state.gov/

But the site has not worked for the 2 weeks that I have been trying.  Can someone try it and let me know if it works for you?  Seems odd that has been down so long and I am thinking it might be something at my end.

Thanks!

For anyone interested, the tracking website seems to work for the last week:

https://passportstatus.state.gov/

Mine says "in process" so I guess it made it through the signature mafia in Manila.  Received in Manila on September 4 so only about 2.5 weeks so far.

Someone in a vlog (forgot where) mentioned that BI will soon force 13a visa holders to transfer arrival and 13a stamp to current passport for the yearly annual report. Bringing both current and expired passports as a work around may not work next year. So....I ask in the BI office in Dumaguete; they said yes, the change is coming, but not officially announced yet. I guess that means 'maybe' for next January?  Dunno.....JRC services two doors down said pretty much the same thing. Hoping they don't change policy.

When I got my exit clearance from my local BI before I left, they put the stamp in my new passport.

Lee, which office was that?

I should get my new passport in the next month, and would like to figure out the easiest path to get the 13a visa transferred to my new passport.  My local BI office in Olongapo does not have a good track record for doing anything out of the ordinary.  I will try, but if I walk in there and ask "can you transfer my 13a visa to my new passport?", their automatic answer might be "Manila".

Has this actually been announced yet as a policy or is it still open to local interpretation? Or even applies to tourist visa holders only?

I ask because when I checked a few weeks ago at my local BI they insisted it was NOT a requirement. The friendly officer did say it's a good idea in case you lose the original passport but no more than that. Ihave to renew my ACR next month so I guess I'll find out then for sure.

ETA - I read online of folk who were told to transfer last January yet I did my AR then and nothing was said hence my uncertainty.

I agree with your local BI.
Renewed my ACR (13a) at the main office a few months ago no mention. My original stamp is in my passport from 1999.
Been in and out of the country a few times recently and again no mention.

Good to hear - Thanks for the info. Gives me some hope that it's more of an informal than formal 'policy '.

That is the big question!  January was mentioned.
