Of course wages are much higher in the US, but still the prices seem crazy high. well considering the avg salary in the US is about 10 times higher than in the Philippines (if not more)... Both prices are crazy high if you ask me, especially taking into consideration what you are paying for. 1

I think I have mentioned this before but the best hamburger I have had here is at Denny's. If there is one near you, I HIGHLY recommend you try it. As a yank, I make it a point to try hamburgers in most Restaurants that offer them, always on the lookout for a good burger. (restaurants, not Mac's, Wendy or BK type places. Most are pretty good.........if only they would stop putting cucumbers on them! What is up with that!!!
Possum Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I'll try a 5 Guys burger tomorrow, haven't had one in years. Hopefully still good. Actually I've been craving crispy pata recently so it's on my list soon after our return.

This is what I don't get. Fast food restaurants used to be affordable food. These days they cost as much as decent lunch restaurants with a buffet!

For example, we ate at a half-decent restaurant in the mall yesterday (Bigby's) and the cost was almost 1,800php for the 3 of us - more than double what we'd pay in Burger King or McDonald's. Viking's Buffet is now over 1,000php per head. I have noticed that the fast food restaurants have introduced cheaper deals at around 100php for a burger and a drink so obviously they have seen the impact of inflation on their customers. Dont think I have gone to a Mcdonalds in 40 years (except one time going home after a long night of partying with a buddy, needed coffee bad and got an egg mcmuffin). I've never been to jolly bee
craftbeerlover Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 The best burger I have had here, and maybe the best I have ever had, was at a restaurant called "Farm Organics". They used to have a branch in Alabang. Every bite was incredible, juice running down both sides of your mouth. Tasty fricken burger They raise their own cattle to produce the burgers. Not sure if they are still in business???

Sorry, should have clarified that I was referring to the situation in Sweden. In the Philippines it's cheaper than many other restaurants but still expensive considering what you get, in my opinion.

It used to be okay for that but now I think it is way too expensive for what you get. Edited June 17 by Viking Spelling
