Popular Post stevewool Posted April 10 Popular Post Posted April 10 This past week I’m sure Ems is trying to kill me by feeding me things she likes , I’m getting to the stage where I may cook my own food as off last night I had to tell her her cooking is not nice , by saying that I may not have any choice anywhere . What do you want to eat Pasta she says before I could open my mouth , ok , anyway sitting there eating the pasta there was a funny taste , what did you put in the pasta Ems, Nothing she says Why? , it’s just don’t taste right , ok I put sone curry powder in it she says . What do you want to eat Lasagna again before I even said anything and again , Ems it’s just to creamy , yes I added double cream and sour cream , don’t you like it , now do I say No or do I say Yes , i chickened out and says it’s ok but I did not have any seconds, but we had it the following day and the day after that it did get thicker though . What do you want to eat salmon, again this was her choice but I like salmon, anyway it’s ready she shouted and it was placed in front of me with that much sauce on the plate covering everything , if the salmon was alive it could have swam away , what’s this source Ems , it’s white sauce, so why is it red , she had put some of her special things in I can’t say them never mind spell them and again it spoiled dinner , I could not eat it and so I told her ,I thought you like source on your food she said , dinner was eaten in silence which made a change even her slurping and smacking of her lips was quite . I’ve got the gravy boat out from the back of the cupboard so any source made from now will go in that and I can pour any amount I want , that’s if she will ever cook my dinner again .but I still love her 1 1 5 1
Popular Post Clermont Posted April 10 Popular Post Posted April 10 Well I’m lucky at the moment, my wife is a good cook and she cooks the food she like’s and cooks the food I like , plenty of choice in the food range, even the fast food service, yeah I’m content.

Similar to mine, except we have a son to take into account. We mostly eat exactly the same food but sometimes my wife will add something different to hers only. There are so many food options available that it's never been an issue thus far. The only point of contention is that both she and my son love pasta with tomato sauce whilst I'm not a lover but I can eat it so that's one I'll take for the team!
craftbeerlover Posted April 11 Posted April 11 No problems here as well. My wife is a great cook, and loves to learn more dishes to try as well, and not just filipino food. The best thing is we have very similar tastes, other than I love spicy and she is not a big fan. I just add patis and sili, and that satisfies my spicy itch. Our son eats just about anything/everything (depending on his mood of course)
Forum Support Mike J Posted April 11 Forum Support Posted April 11 My advice is to be honest. My wife is a good cook who like to experiment and change up a recipe. Early on I encouraged her to always follow the recipe the first time, then experiment later. When she cooks something new or modifies a meal she will ask if I like it. I am always honest and tell her what I think of the dish. Some are great, some are good, some need improvement, and some I tell her I can't eat. Some of what she cooks will end up going to the dogs and they seem to love it. She does not get upset and recognizes that American and Filipino taste in foods are just different. So be honest, tell her what she prepares that you enjoy but also what you do not like. I think you will find her experiments in food will gravitate toward meals that you will both enjoy. Bon appétit.
