Not being that. Just frank talk. And don't act like fear mongering isn't highly prevalent on forums.  I mean a guy could post literally anything and some other bloke would come along and tell him the dangers...

That was only some of his finds. I met him up later at night and he showed me the gold and silver rings he found, he gave his girlfriend the first ring that he found and it looked pretty chunky. The one ring in the picture was about 4.5 grams and gold is about 4.3k peso per gram. 

He takes it pretty serious and was explaining his detector is submersible to about 20m and can be tuned in for different metals. So serious that he was out before 5am and again at about 11pm leaving his partner in the room, he was only on Boracay for two nights.

You know, I can see metal detecting at a place like Boracay, on that long beach, where rich Korean tourist are playing beach volleyball or dancing at one of the all-night concerts (if they still have those) wearing their rings and bracelets and such. But I can still see some over efficient security guard with an inferiority complex coming up and saying "Private property Sir!, No can do here" and when questioned suddenly loses his English speaking ability .

But as for the rest of the Philippines, with all the scavengers and plastic collectors I am afraid all a person might find are a few used battery terminals, jeepney lug nuts and 10 centavo coins.
