Topping up national insurance, pension

It’s a minefield trying to work out what’s best , plus it’s for my partner who may not even bother going for it if I am not around and she is  in another part of the world , again I may ask her to see what the actual figure is to top up those missing years ,if I show her the figures of you could get £5.29 a week and after so many years it’s sort of free, or part payment of a jollibee meal that might swing it .

Just keep it simple is my advice. For every year she wants to make up she will pay £150 if she was working during that time or £850 if not working. The break even point is either of those numbers divided by £5. 

It was a no-brained for me as I am at the £150 rate. Actually, they have never asked for proof I'm working from the time I applied until today.  

B.T.W. all is changing from April '24 but that won't affect your partner as her payments will be retrospective.
