We have been paying bills with Gcash for a few years now, and have never had a problem.  Have also used it for things like dentists, food delivery, load for phones etc..   We dont leave large sums of money in there <10k.    Either load it up from western union, wise, or Gotyme.

I had the same problem for several years and gave up. I finally learned from another expat that it’s because my IPhone is registered in the U.S. Which is true even though I have a Philippine SIM.

The problem with registering to the P.I. (It’s easy) Is that my other apps like PayPal might be affected by the switch. What I did was buy another sim and install it into my nieces phone and then created a new account. After it was fully verified and working I went to a Smart store and had the SIM transferred to my IPhone as a virtual eSIM since there’s only one SIM slot. I already had a T-MOBILE eSIM for two party authentication.

When you say we, are you saying the account is in your name or a Filipina?

Should have clarified, it is in wife's name.

I wonder how many foreigners have actually been able to verify their account?  Given my wife was pretty much instantly verified whilst I'm still waiting despite both accounts being done within a day of each other, I suspect us foreigners are less likely to be verified.

Interesting you brought that up. Recently I applied for a union bank credit card at SnR (got a free pizza out of it). But was turned down. No reason given and have not heard back on any inquiries I made at a local bank. I know my credit is good, and for sure my income is way above the average Juan. Would apply under my wife's name but only the primary account hold of the SnR card can apply.

  Foreign nationals who are 18 or older can get a fully verified GCash account by submitting their Alien Certificate of Registration. They may also need to submit additional documents.

To get a fully verified GCash account, you need a valid, non-expired government ID. Scanned or photocopied IDs are not accepted

Will a Alien Certificate of Registration do as a non-expired government ID? If so it didn't work for me 3 times I gave up.
