A Filipino friend has a new Jimny and I like it very much. I've a bad back and tall but it's comfortable. not fancy and can get around during rainy season and or bad roads.

2023 is the date of first Philippine registration... not the date of manufacture.  All of these are ex Japan cut an shuts.

I'm mostly being sarcastic although I did buy one. Would have much preferred a new Suzuki S-Presso but money was tight. For now it's gets me from A to B and is easy on gas and easy to fix. I treat it more like a beater I would drive back home in the winter and really don't consider it a reliable car. I did splurge on a new Yamaha Mio. Things could be worse.

We are adding a 3-door Jimny to our fleet. We ordered it with 20k deposit almost a year ago. Our number in the waiting queue hardly went down over that time, yet several were delivered to customers. Well, L was unhappy about that and had a word (or many words) to the sales woman who actually brought her concerns (possible payoffs or "important" people getting preference?) to a staff meeting. The dealer manager took it seriously and changed things.... That was about a month ago... Suddenly, last week, our Jimny was about to be delivered here in Davao. So, the squeaky wheel? (And they learned to listen to L!)

Apparently Japan is exporting them in dribs and drabs to P.I. Also, L was told that the 5 door versions are produced in India (they by-passed Japan corporate) and they are shipping lots here so Jack's wait should not be long.
