A search of recent threads shows:  "Most people who come here buy throwaway tickets to get into the country . . . "

Yes, confirmed.  May also be referred to as an onward or outbound ticket.  Does not matter to which country just as long as the ticket shows exiting the Philippines.

Phils Immigration just want to know you'll be LEAVING within your initial period of permitted stay, and have a valid ticket confirming that. Going where , they're not concerned about.... but all you need to know has been posted above. Happy trip !

At Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, they already did ask me to show a return ticket from the Philippines. Did fly with Singapore airlines.

Probably because an airline landing a passenger without the correct documents needed for entry to that country will be subject to a large fine, and returning said passenger from whence they came.

This has been the case worldwide, for many years now.

They do sometines ask what date you're leaving the Philippines, it's better to answer with the date of your onward flight/ticket (within the visa free period) than your actual extention intended date.
