Jay Dimaandal said over radio dwPM. (Six of the victims were Chinese, one Vietnamese, one Malaysian and one Japanese.) Three of the dead Chinese nationals were found in Porac town. A raid was conducted in a Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) complex in Porac last month where 186 individuals were rescued amid reports it was being used for human trafficking, with some of the foreign employees allegedly tortured or sold for sex. But Dimaandal said it could not be determined if the death of three Chinese victims were Pogo-related. “Actually hindi po natin masabi dahil tulad po nitong tatlong Chinese victim, based sa backtracking sa CCTV nanggaling po sila sa Metro Manila ang sasakyan, at dito nagbarilan at dito natagpuan ang tatlong bangkay,” Dimaandal said. (Actually, we could not yet say because like the three Chinese victims, based on the backtracking of CCTV footage, their vehicle came from Metro Manila, a fire fight happened here and their bodies were also found here.) Aside from this incident, bodies of kidnapped Chinese nationals were recently found in other parts of the country. Last month, the remains of two Chinese businessmen who were suspected to have been kidnapped were found in Camarines Sur. In November 2023, four Chinese nationals who were kidnapped in Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City were also found dead in Rizal and Quezon.

We are talking about the Philippines, and the flood gates, specifically for the chinese, were wide open during the last administration. That is not just an opinion, it is a fact. Illegal entry (by the chinese), illegal documentation, e.g., visas, passports, birth certificates etc.(by the chinese) sky rocketed. The fake documents allowed them to purchase land, houses, start business etc. It got so bad within the PRA (SRRV), that they not only changed the rules, but limited the 3 year extensions to 1 year. Alarms were being raised by members of the congress and senate, but all fell on deaf ears. "The Bureau of Immigration has estimated that 3.12 million Chinese nationals have entered the country from January 2016 to May 2018." "2019 A legislative inquiry reveals nearly 120,000 illegal Chinese workers in the country, a migrant population President Rodrigo Duterte is reluctant to expel" "Other media reports and conflicting government figures have suggested the figure may be as high as 400,000." 1 1

According to Joseph Morong's report on "24 Oras," AFP chief of staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. said the aim was to degrade the value system and divide the Filipinos. www.amazon.com/Shop/gauze table runner plumEnhance Your Look - Digital Services and Support - Vast Product Inventory “One way of fighting really without firing a single shot is to infiltrate into the various sectors of society, degrade... the value system," Brawner said. "Parang tayo-tayo ang mag aaway-away…kaya't dapat bantayan natin ito,” he added. (This is for us to turn against each other… So we should be wary.) Brawner did not name any groups or individuals who could be behind the said efforts. GMA Integrated News has sought comment from the Chinese embassy regarding China's united front works and "third-party amplifiers." The AFP has previously pointed out that fake news has been proliferating lately to sow fear among the public. The National Security Council confirmed that some individuals or groups are participating in the spread of China’s narrative and influence. “Wala pa tayong mga specific na batas on foreign malign influence,” said NSC assistant director general Jonathan Malaya. We don't really have that many undocumented folks in the UK relatively speaking because the system encourages and even incentivises them to be documented. But, if we simply look at the crime rate amongst immigrants relative to their population it's lower than for the general population. There can and will be lots of caveats and variables to that but the idea that immigrants are the route of the UK's crime problem doesn't really hold up. If we were to isolate organised crime then the picture might be (is) a bit different which possibly ties in with the para above I've quoted.

Much the same in the USA. Texas has a large number of undocumented immigrants and a large population. A study shows citizens are 2 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times for drug offenses and 4 times for property crimes. https://www.ojp.gov/library/publications/comparing-crime-rates-between-undocumented-immigrants-legal-immigrants-and

Most of the comments are just pointing out that the Philippines is not the only country facing a similar problem.
Possum Posted July 6 Posted July 6 My guess? The dead ones mentioned were involved with POGOs or other illegal activity. Either voluntarily or by coercion [taking a job under false pretenses]. IF their killers are ever caught we may know more. Since I don't knowingly engage in illegal acts I figure I'm about as safe from being murdered here as any other 3rd world country.
