Due do wildly differing national circumstances across the globe it's very difficult to make a comparison. The vast majority illegal immigrants in Australia arrive on visas then overstay, this was actually the case even at the height of the "boat people" incidents over the years. I've just been searching for about an hour and can't find any real evidence of the crime rates being more or less amongst these groups in Australia. What I did find is a significant percentage of non-domestic violent crime is committed by under 25s and usually drug or alcohol related. Murder and serious assault is more likely to be committed in a domestic situation than anywhere else. Edited July 7 by BrettGC
Forum Support Old55 Posted July 7 Forum Support Posted July 7 (edited) It would be interesting to know the details of those murders. Chinese or Korean mob? I know very little about those organized crime syndicates other than it's a real thing and not to be trifled with. How many bodies have never been recovered I wonder. I believe the implication was looking at the bigger picture, which is a systematic invasion/infiltration, overtly and covertly to either do damage, control, seize territory, make money etc. I can provide a laundry list of facts and statistics to back up that opinion if you'd like? Most of the comments are just pointing out that the Philippines is not the only country facing a similar problem. The piece below is from 2020. The current crackdown, to include an infiltration into the Philippines Government is, in my opinion, just the very tip of the iceberg. " As President Rodrigo Duterte moves to boot US troops from Philippine soil through the cancellation of a key defense pact, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is quietly moving in to take their place. Duterte’s recent decision to abrogate the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), which allowed the US to rotate troops and position equipment in the country, is opening the way for China to solidify its competing strategic position in the country. That’s at least according to early findings of investigations into China’s undercover and illicit activities, ranging reputedly from espionage to surveillance to money laundering, now being spearheaded by Philippine Senator Richard Gordon. Those probes have included scrutiny of the hundreds of thousands of Chinese citizens now employed in the burgeoning online casino sector, known locally as Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs), many of which are clustered close to key military camps and strategic bases in Manila, the national capital. Gordon has claimed that the POGOS have been infiltrated by PLA soldiers for intelligence gathering and other activities. Those claims were validated when two card-carrying PLA members attached to a POGO were were arrested in a shooting incident in Manila late last month. The Senate investigations have revealed a tangled web of official corruption and conspiracy which has allowed countless Chinese citizens, including allegedly between 2,000-3,000 PLA soldiers, to illegally and secretly reside in the country. Under the so-called “pastillas” scheme, exposed by whistleblower Allison “Alex” Chiong of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI), Chinese nationals pay roughly 10,000 pesos (US$200) as a “service fee” for special treatment and ease of entry into the country. While around $40 of that fee goes to immigration officers, the rest is allegedly spread among senior officials and other allies of the president who oversee the alleged syndicate run out of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Senator Panfilo Lacson, chairman of the committee on national defense and security and a former police chief, said that he has recently received information from security agencies claiming that thousands of undercover PLA members are engaged in “immersion missions” in the country, with Chinese spies operating under the guise of POGO workers. Freebie Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Find out which politicians arent speaking up for the removal of POGOs and the associated criminality of the Chinese here and you will know who has been bought. Its been well known that the Chinese embassy has been spreading money far and wide here for several years. The tsinoys here, lnog established family with footholds in every business here, hate the mainlanders as they cause dislike of the Chinese.... the tsinoys always marrying their own, and by doing a lot of business with China, still have one foot in both camps for business reasons only.
