Lee Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I would support this also but can see that it would be all but unenforceable. Popular Post Gator Posted August 6 Popular Post Posted August 6 The wife (and most of the other teachers at her school) have been “banning” cell phones for quite a while. She has a plastic bin on her desk and students are required to off their phones and place them in the bin when they enter her classroom. Only twice has she encountered push back, but not from the students …… from their parents. They both said they were concerned that if there was an emergency they would not be able to reach their kids. The wife’s response was to give them her phone number as well the principals. She told them if there’s an emergency they can call or text her or the principal directly or they can keep their kids at home. The parents grumbled a bit, but left without any further argument. 4
Popular Post graham59 Posted August 6 Popular Post Posted August 6 A no-brainer, surely ? I would think quite enough hours are spent with faces glued to the things... which are now (IMO) becoming the scourge of the 21st century. Fitting in a few hours without, for an education, and 'socialising' with real live people, how inconvenient . 4 1

Forum Support Mike J Posted August 6 Forum Support Posted August 6 The private school where I used to mentor students after class always collected phones in the morning. They were allowed to use them again during the lunch break only.
