Dave Hounddriver Posted August 24 Posted August 24 As I understand it, the ISS is regularly staffed by a series of "expeditions". Expedition 71 began on April 5, 2024 and ends in September 2024. They obviously have a ride home so why don't the 2 extras just hitch a ride?

The space suits of the two astronauts are not compatible with SpaceX. The soonest return flight is already booked full. The next SpaceX flight to the ISS will only have two crew members instead of four and will also take two extra space suits. When they return in February they will bring the two Starliner astronauts home with them in the SpaceX capsule.

Yeah, like The hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. 1
