New Tourist Visa Extensions Process - Vetting, Interview, Etc.

I did read a post on a Facebook expat group where the long term girlfriend was questioned by BI as to why her boyfriend had extended to 2 years and why they didn't get married and get a 13A visa.

She said he couldn't and they granted the extension.  Also that BI had be instructed to question the reason for extension of tourist visa more than 12 months.

Probably not BI policy. I put it down to the Filipino annoying habit of being nosy and wanting to stick their nose in everyone else's business.

For the majority of foreigners, I think that is true.  I suspect the big dustup over POGOs may have a lot to do with the concern.

I agree.  I just wonder about giving one person the ability to make a decision about an extension.  We have all seen the problems caused at the airport via not allowing people to leave the country.
