graham59 Posted August 25 Posted August 25 (edited) It's an MGBGT, probably late 60s to early 70s. ....If for the American market, minus the later horrible rubber bumpers and sillly, handling-ruining raised supension (because of light height regs in the States. ) Probably the best model to buy. Not fast even back in the day, but a pleasant, slightly sporty ride. Heavier than the more popular soft-top MGB, but with the same power...so slower. As for the TR6... again, ruined for the American market and their restrictions. TR6 PI lost 25bhp over the British version (emissions regs). If you want to buy a proper, unadulterated, original British car...don't buy the export version. Amongst the many British sports cars I've owned, I've had a few TVRs... much more power and buttock-clenching fun. Here's one of them....(a V8) : . Younger days...in my Lotus 7...which would leave an MGBGT standing. lol. : . . Edited August 25 by graham59 2

Gator Posted August 25 Posted August 25 17 hours ago, OnMyWay said: Spotted this very clean MG here on Subic. Anybody know year, model, etc.? Not sure if they did it on non USA cars, but if you see it again have a look at the tail lights to see if the model year is stamped into them (last two digits, ie -72). Not always 100% accurate though; for example a 57 Vette’s taillights will stamped -56 (R1-56) as they are the same and were first used in 1956.
