I was wrong. After asking to make sure, I am now waiting to do the practical. Only cost me 650 for the test car. I already paid 100 application fee. Still will need to make final payment for DL.

I had to do fingerprints.

Just completed practical. Drove an old small car with manual and a small truck. Just drove outside and around building and back. Had to parallel park. Dinged me on many tiny things yet passed me anyway.

Made final payment. 810 pesos. 1560 total today to get DL plus 500 for medical last week. 2060 in all.

They wouldn't accept my tempoary US state license for conversion because it wasn't plastic. I had temp license because I moved 2 months ago to a state with no income taxes and the new plastic one is at my mail forwarding service. In the US each state issues their own DL.

New plastic DL in hand.

I'll let the contest run a bit longer.

You're lucky!

They wouldn't hand the card to me despite it being over the counter - they insisted it be sent by mail so another 2 weeks until I got it. :571c66d400c8c_1(103):

The whole thing today ended up taking 8 hours from the time I left home until I returned. 9 to 5. Spent an hour getting there and parked. Then a quick grab to LTO. A bit over 5 hours to get DL with no lunch or even water. Then a grab back to car. Stop to get a snack and iced coffee. Then an hour to drive home.

The grand total for yesterday was 14. 14 times I had to do business at a window, desk, etc with LTO. That doesn't count the half dozen times I had to ask directions from security.

Brett is the winner with 8.
