Reminds me of a quote from some comedy record from 50 years ago- it might have been Firesign Theatre  (remember vinyl?) "All I need is a powerful gasoline, a clean windshield and a shoe shine!" Tough deal to shine my flip-flops though.

Firesign theater. As a kid I would listen to them on a college radio station using a radio I built from parts late at night in my room. For a middle school kid from a small farm town that was exciting.

But what about having a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant, cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks, and run on regular gas.

Loved the movie, the penguin scene was great!   I even had a special "Moos brothers" t-shirt

Frustration again at how easily they cancel classes here.

We have a blustery and squally day here, probably not bad enough to cancel classes buy who am I? But, my son was due to have online classes today and they cancelled those as well!

Same here, just a small homework assigned. But its first grade. Gives her time to spend with her auntie who just arrived from Saudi.

 Full blast typhoon type Storm here, Could Hardly stand in the garden some of the Time,, For once I agree with closing our Local School power linemen had a Hader day than a Normal storm

As an ex vice president of a parent teachers association in a private school I pretty much gave up on them. The had a 100% policy on English speaking in the play ground that was never enforced and the teachers including the Head teacher spoke pigeon English and couldn't construct a complete sentence. 

I would cringe at the opening presentation at parents days. I went along the lines of: Thank you for coming and the dancers , yes they welcome you, excellent work by the children and the aircons will be installed soon. Well done to our senior students and if you wish to stay longer yes the curriculum will be and if you have any questions.

I am happy to report the Montessori school our daughters are attending now is all English all the time except for Filipino studies. Also tests are written, no multiple choice and if a word is misspelled on a test the answer is considered wrong. Thus far they haven't done any dancing .
