I tend not to get into the debate on critical thinking v logical thinking.  I prefer to think of it simply as thinking!

Actually it is not that bad in that video.  After storms it can be much worse and they get volunteers out there to clean it.

There is overlap between critical thinking and logical thinking, but they are not the same. The choice of whether  to build in an area which is subject to natural disasters involves logic or lack of logic. Unquestioning acceptance of the pronouncements of Authority is more of a lack of critical thought.
