I remember those adds when I was a kid.  The macho "Marlboro Man" who died of lung cancer.   Walk a mile for a Camel.  Call for Philip Morris.  As your Dentist I Would Recommend Viceroys.  Now my brain will probably be subconsciously digging up old cigarette commercials all day.   When did those stop?

Congress bans airing cigarette ads, April 1, 1970

Quote

On this day in 1970, President Richard Nixon signed the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act, which banned cigarette ads from airing on television and radio.

The Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement reached in 1997 bans outdoor, billboard and public transportation advertising of cigarettes in 46 states. Restrictions on cigarette were further tightened in 2010 with passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. The act prohibits tobacco companies from sponsoring sports, music and other cultural events and bars the display of their logos or products on T-shirts, hats, or other apparel.

Shows the power of those cigarette adds that I still recall them after more than 50 years!   I quit smoking about 30 years ago.

With the new administration, I would speculate that pharma advertising will have a lot more restrictions.  Fine with me.

Anyone else remember the great Ashitaba craze about 15 years ago?. Seemed like everyone was growing a bush or two in the yard.

LOL. I only have got to know about Ashitaba from another expat. I got some plants off lazada, planted them and the next morning all the leaves had been scoffed by some bug.

Is this a scam or do they have some healthy minerals?

At the moment the wife and I are on a vitamin and mineral crave. I don't even know which are fakes or genuine?

Is there a specific brand that is not fake or Genuine?

Centrum Silver, order from Amazon.  Expensive but genuine and a wide range of vitamins and minerals.  If you buy two it will ship free.  Says for Men, but I really don't know why it would not be just as good for the ladies.

Sadly not. There have been multiple studies into the contents of supplements and a large percentage even big name brands have been found to contain spurious ingredients, some of which can be detrimental.

I follow a real medical doctor who also has a Masters in nutrition and he goes into the science of things in layman's terms but he at least shows the studies. In short most supplements are useless if you eat a regular diet and have no underlying issues.
