To be honest the quietest places I've stayed in the Philippines have been condos above the 20th floor.

Either the middle of the jungle or near to the clouds does seem to be the only escape.

A former associate of mine assigned to UNITAS USMC spent time training Philippine Marines in the 1980's. He said they were great marines, lots of fun to be with and did well on operations once you got them to STFU.

That works, so long as there isn't a wedding/anniversary/birthday party with all the families staying on the 21st floor or above?

L and I have stayed in various resorts/hotels and they all seem to always have celebrations with huge families, lots of kids and no control. I refuse to go to resorts or hotels here anymore. Noisy as it may be here, it is quieter than in resorts or hotels.

This may be true for resort areas but our residential condo in NCR is very quiet. Never had a single noise disturbance in 4 months from residents. There is some street noise from the C5 road below but that normally is ok as we are more than 20 floors up.

I refuse to stay at the Ariana in Dipolog anymore. There is always a wedding or a regional conference going on. All accompanied by earth jostling music and PA announcements. I was referring in my post to residential condos as Earthdome mentioned in his post.
