Construction Debris Disposal

I'm curious if this type container for debris is widely used in PH now.  I'm sure they have been around in big cities for big projects, but we just started getting them for small projects a few years ago.  Cost me p9000 for 24 hours or so.  Supposed to be 20 cubic meters and I probably used 2/3.

If you know of them, is p9000 a lot?  Seems high.  In the U.S. they are left on the job site for a while and you fill them as you work.  24 hours makes it hard.

I've yet to see anyone carting building waste away. Normally it's just dig a big hole, bury it and sell the surplus topsoil left over.

I have it on good authority that the resort I live in rented some semi decent land to store construction materials but in reality they removed tonnes of quality topsoil to hide the building waste inside the resort and for the landscaping. The architect is a good friend of mine.

This was confirmed when another neighbour decided to plant fruit trees around the resort, we must have dug a good dozen holes and after about one foot of top soil we came up against construction debris.

Only 2/3.....just leave it more than 24hrs your neighbors will fill it up for ya!

Or maybe only 1/3 full after they scavenged the "good stuff" to build/improve their own place to live.

The next door light industrial machine shop has brought in truck load after truck load and dumped it on a section of their own property. No sign of digging to bury it. It is an eyesore, but then the owners live away now and don't have to look at it. They have also sprayed Roundup to kill grass on parts of the right-of-way there. I am very opposed to using that forever, nasty chemical. There is a small intermittent river next to their property, so you know where that all ends up. As often seen here, no thought for the future, just whatever is expedient (and free or cheap) for today.:facepalm_80_anim_gif:

A relative who owns a residential construction company told me that security guards at subdivisions receive "additional compensation" to search debris being hauled away from their construction sites.  The reason is enterprising workers hide delivered materials and sometimes tools inside the debris for later retrieval.  If caught, the entire crew is immediately terminated.  Their names are shared with other companies as a form of blacklisting (illegal?).  The effect is a tremendous reduction of materials disappearing.

I tried!  I talked to my 3 closest neighbors.  Two of them are selling and have recently cleaned up, so did not have a need.  The 3rd has so much from his renovations that he needs a whole truck, parked near the pile!

This is not the typical barangay, so not a lot of junk lying around.  My neighbors are selling their units for 28 mil (with pool) and 22 mil.  Very nice places.  Those are leases with 40 years left.

My workers get the good stuff!  Any metals we save and there is junk shop right where I drop them at the end of the day.  I have also given many other things.

After 8 months of piling this stuff up, it's nice to say goodbye!

Given it's size, I don't think it's expensive - you'd pay about that for a skip 1/3rd that size in the UK.
