Mr Lee Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 THE Palace has asked Congress to work on two pending bills aimed at splitting the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao into two, and expanding its coverage to neighboring villages to create a homeland sought by Muslim separatists. The first measure allows the villages that voted in a 2001 plebiscite to be part of the autonomous homeland sought by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to do so, said Director General Milo Ibrado of the National Security Council. Those towns include Baloi, Munai, Nunungan, Pantar, Tagoloan, and Tangcal in Lanao del Norte whose residents have agreed to joined the proposed Bangsamoro homeland. The second bill splits the autonomous region into two as agreed in the peace talks between the government and the separatist group.
